Introducing the course development project on the Blackboard system
King Abdulaziz University, represented by the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education, has started implementing a project to develop courses on the e-learning system (Blackboard), which aims to urge the various colleges and bodies in the university to activate e-learning by raising the scientific content of the courses, as well as assignments and study activities. On the Blackboard system to be ready for students and faculty members at the beginning of each new semester, in order to achieve the principle of equal learning opportunities and methods for all male and female students. The courses are developed by modifying a ready-made template approved by the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education, called the "ideal course template", which will be explained and clarified to the nominated developers during the start of the project

- Supporting the implementation of the strategic plan for digital transformation at the Founder University, which supports the 2030 vision for digital transformation and the professional dissemination of the concept of e-learning.
- Activating e-learning in faculties and various entities and converting them into electronic courses
- Raising the quality of electronic courses according to the standards of international ideal courses.
- Linking learning outcomes with the various elements of assessment, and studying their results on students and faculty members after actually applying them in the classroom.
- Raising the department’s performance in the Blackboard Analytics system, which qualifies the department to obtain the excellence awards offered by the university for activating e-learning.
The perfect template was designed and created by the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education according to the standards and technical specifications of Quality Matters, which provides the best global practices in designing electronic courses and ensuring their quality. This template aims to provide all educational resources and activities in a unified format for all male and female students and in an accessible manner for all faculty members. It is also available in two different versions, Arabic and English
The Deanship focused on supporting the university professor in the process of designing the electronic course by providing explanations included in the ideal course design in addition to many means and methods of support that serve the university professor wishing to develop his courses and make it easier for him to follow the standards of this template.

After the faculty member has finished editing the ideal template, the material is considered to be developed electronically. A copy of the developed course templates will be automatically published and downloaded at the beginning of each semester in all accounts of male and female students and professors registered in the course, while preserving the right of the developed professor by including a fixed page for his information and data in the developed template. A faculty member who has completed the development of his courses can also participate in the competition for the King Abdulaziz University Director’s Award for Excellence and Creativity in E-Learning, which aims to encourage educational e-learning practices among faculty members at King Abdulaziz University in accordance with international quality standards.
