Information Technology Unit

Development Agency Deanship of e-learning and distance education-Department of Quality and Development

This unit aims to provide staff with technical support and improve the web portal with best practices.

Unit’s tasks:

  • Work to improve the information technology within the deanship.
  • Supervise information technology work and manage computers within the deanship.
  • Develop and update the web portal.
  • Provide technical support and communicate with information technology deanship to resolve obstacles when needed.
  • Develop electronic archiving for academic systems.
  • Prepare periodic reports and archiving them that shows the unit’s achievements, obstacles encounter and submit suggestions to improve.
  • Prepare staff to use computer applications with efficiency.
  • Follow up internal networks within classrooms and labs to ensure safety and security standards.
  • Coordinate with the deanship of Information technology regarding technical support, network performance, internet connection and website.
  • Provide the staff with the necessary technical devices in coordination with the warehouse unit.
  • Create a list of computer devices with its peripherals in and update them.
  • Coordinating audio and visual conferences during meeting.
  • Conduct weekly preventive visits to the communication rooms (servers) in cooperation with the Deanship of Information Technology.
  • Checking and inspecting new computers received and ensuring compliance with the required specifications
  • Supervising the network outlets and conducting a technical survey to collect its needs from ports.
  • Setting up, processing computer labs, computers and software for the staff, and writing guidelines to avoid devices misuse.
  • Setting up computers to connect to the network and install software.
  • Continuous updating of operating systems and software periodically.
  • Providing technical support to the units of the development agency in the deanship
