King Abdulaziz University (KAU) has won the Excellence Award for Digital Courses at the Fourth International Conference on e-Learning and Distance Education

 

Adding another feather to its cap, King Abdulaziz University (KAU) has won the Excellence Award for Digital Courses at the Fourth International Conference on e-Learning and Distance Education held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Riyadh 2-5 February 2015.

Prof Abdurrahman Alyoubi, acting KAU President, received the award from Dr Azzan Al-Dakhil, Minister of Education, at a special prize-giving ceremony.

The award, according to Prof Alyoubi, adds to KAU's catalogue of achievements and bears witness to its successful transition into an electronic environment.

He attributed the achievement to the electronic revolution KAU was witnessing and its commitment to developing its IT infrastructure and transforming itself into a paperless university.

The International Conference on e-Learning and Distance Education is organised annually by the National Centre for e-Learning and distance Learning (NCeL) of the Ministry of Education with the aim of gathering leading educators, researchers, practitioners, investors, key decision-makers and end-users to share best practices, highlight key issues and present the latest developments in the fields of e-learning and distance education.

This year's conference- titled “Innovative Learning … Promising Future”- addressed multiple themes, including Innovative Learning Applications and Practices, Ideas and Experiences, Creative Digital Educational Content, Future of Education and Learning in Knowledge Societies, Innovation and Participation for Better Learning and Issues of Quality, Creativity and Innovation.
