Education in the virtual world
| Project Overview |
The idea of the study originated from the urgent need to keep up with scientific and technical development, which dramatically changed the methods of teaching and learning. Today, a student is educated in learning environments that differ in characteristics and requirements from the traditional one. The main focus has become on the “support of self-learning practices” rather than the traditional recitation methods. This study takes into account King Abdulaziz University’s aim, represented in the Deanship of e-Learning and Distance Education, to provide distinct e-learning opportunities for the University students through the programs of "distance education". These programs are developed periodically by the Deanship.

| The Goal of The Project |
- One of the goals, also a part of the strategic plan, is to contribute to the study of the possibility of transforming King Abdulaziz University to become among the cognitive virtual communities, and benefit from the expertise and external conferences.
- Another, is to gain a leading position amongst the international universities by applying the latest methods used in distance education and keep up with developments in the modern era.
